I have just completed my last year studying for a National Diploma in Media Production and am proud to say that I was hand-selected by Edexcel to the launch of VQ Day at the House of Commons on the 23rd April 2008 together with three more successful students from across the Country. I was also invited to the actual celebration of the VQ Day during a cocktail party at the Royal Opera House on the 23rd July 2008 which was hosted by Strictly Come Dancing winner Alesha Dixon.
I am a very ambitious person and at only 18 years old, I already completed a period of work experience at Bliss Magazine, written for several publications, have won the Runner-up Learner of the Year Award 2008 as part of the FE Sussex Spring Awards, have won the 2008 Scamp Award for The Most Promising Journalist Award which was sponsored by the Central Sussex College and been offered a place at University where I will be studying BA Hons in Media and Communications starting September 2008.
Through my BTEC course, I was able to apply for a NUJ (National Union of Journalist) membership. It has allowed me attend and report on various events including the Chelsea Player of the Year Awards, the Indy Music Awards, The Travel Destination Show, a press pass and backstage access to the entire duration of the Glastonbury Festival 2007 and 2008 also The Great Escape Festival 2008 in Brighton.
I enjoy photographing everything but mainly bands playing live and to enhance my career as a young Music Journalist I try to get involved as much as can with the media so I arrange my own interviews with bands and write articles on Record Labels as well as Reviews on Albums, Bands, Venues, Mainstream Music, Gigs, books and Movies and I do all this work on a voluntary basis free of charge.
At the moment I write and do interviews for my own website and also various websites that I contribute to, including Europunk, Creature Mag, my college magazine “Scoop”, The Telegraph and MTV Blogs, and am part of the editorial team for the Sussex Student Network website. I am also scheduled to start work experience for NME Magazine in August 2008 and Kerrang Magazine later on in October 2008.
I have also created another website with more work that I have been doing, please check out:
Here are some links to sites that I contribuite to:
Me with Dave Grohl from The Foofighters
Me with Chris Daughtry from the band Daughtry
and the American TV show American Idol

Me with Stone Gods (Former band The Darkness)
Apart from contributing to online magazines I also broadcast all my audio interviews on youtube by creating video clips and adding the photos that I take of the bands from live shows, so whilst listening to interview you can also watch a slideshow of photos taken by me. Please check out my yourtube page on http://uk.youtube.com/user/AidenQueen or just click on the INTERVIEWS on the side of this page.
I enjoy travelling and learning about other people’s culture. I can speak some Spanish and hope to translate all my interviews into Spanish and create another website in Spanish so I can broadcast myself and get understood by people from other countries.
I am proud to say that I am very familiar with many venues where I have been given backstage and press access. Some of these venues are the Carlling Brixton Accademy, London Barfly, London Astoria, Earls Court, Leeds Harewood House, Brighton Concorde, Brighton Dome, Brighton Centre, London Bull and Gate Pub, London Meanfidller, the 02, Harlequin Theatre in Redhill and many more.
Now that you learnt so much about me, please browse through my website and leave a comment on the guest book.
